The Client

Leverton Clarke is a chemical manufacturer, specialising in lithium compounds and lithium salts. They export 90% of their produce to over 28 countries around the world. In 2014 and 2019 they won the prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category for their impressive growth in International sales.

The Challenge: A previous disappointing experience

Leverton Clarke is heavily dependent on their IT systems for operational efficiency and wanted a company that could provide a simple IT disaster recovery solution. A lean organisation, they were looking for a provider that could offer a fully managed service, enabling them to focus on their core strengths of running the business.

Initially Leverton Clarke chose to work with another company that provided an online backup and disaster recovery solution, After 6 months of trying to get the systems to work, it was decided that the contract should be terminated as, in that time, it still hadn’t delivered a working disaster recovery solution. Feeling somewhat disillusioned, an alternative supplier was sought and Leverton Clarke decided that the certainty of Ekco’s solution was what was required. The fact that full systems recoveries would be carried out every 24 hours and tested daily by Ekco to guarantee they are working gave Leverton Clarke the peace of mind that they were looking for.

The Ekco Experience

Ekco immediately sent Leverton Clarke an appliance that would take copies of their data and systems and securely transfer them to the Ekco platform. Upon receipt, these are rebuilt into fully working systems in our virtual environment. Within 2 weeks of the contract being signed, our daily recovery service had commenced and Leverton Clarke was fully protected by our service. A test recovery exercise was carried out and signed off by the client to reassure them that everything was working correctly.
